Busy, Jeez thought I’d never stop!

It’s great when things take off and move; more on why this happened so quickly later…
It’s good to get your feet under and really sort things out

I’ve always been an initiator, I like moving things along and I follow through sometimes it takes a while (lots of patience, faith and being a tad tenacious is important here) Though of late the moving part I don’t really need to do, which in my book is fab as it means a lot less effort on my part. How does it get any better than that? What else is possible?

Got the inspiration for this post from riding my bike the other day, it’s been quite chilly here and for some reason that I don’t quite understand I’ve always like my head covered when it’s cold –  I love hats, all kind of hats, berets are my favourite (note to self – find a shop that sells decent ones.) Maybe my mother instilled this into me when I was little as Scottish winters were sometimes quite fierce.

Sometimes those damn curve balls drive you crazy, you feel there are no answers to anything, hopelessness, fear, so I asked the question ( I’m all about asking the question as it works. It’s been bothering me a lot, about what to do…. Here is the answer

This photo was taken in a taxi on the way to work this morning, not being a morning person I watched the bus zoom past me… ooops… oh well. I’ve gone past that a million times and never seen it – funny how things pop up when you need them the most. Love… Jeez I wasn’t expecting that; as being in judgement well it was so much safer –  blame, anxiety, worry, hey isn’t that much more fun!

Dinner for friends

This post is all about simple good food, it’s not that difficult to make I’ve included instructions and pictures.
There’s a Leek and Carrot Flan, Popcorn, Banana & Chocolate Cake and a Lemon Cheesecake

I love making flans… I’d bake them all the time if I could :)here’s a Leek and Carrot Flan I have also made a Carrot and Tofu Flan see this recipe

I followed a recipe from The Vegan Cookbook (and here is the updated version of the book), but as usual I’ve messed with the recipe again as that’s only for the Carrot Flan and I LOVE leeks with a passion!

imageBirmingham German Christmas Market ~ Dec 2010

I went to the Birmingham Christmas Market a few weeks ago, on a random trip to Brum, surprise from some friends 😀 I even got to see the new Harry Potter movie.  It was when we had our first snowfalls, oh I thought that was the end of it… (still snowy!) I love German bread, have done since I went to München (Munich) in 1997. So was looking forward to visiting the Christmas market.

Simple Good Food ~ Part 1

Here is my kitchen, it’s actually quite big as there is a table behind me, there is also a part 2
I love to cook though I have been busy with other things. I have felt inspired of late and have a little more time to cook so here are my efforts. Any decent cook will tell you that having good equipment does help a lot, I don’t need that much, but decent flan dishes, bowls to mix ingredients some good scales, a liquidiser and a blender all help make cooking a meal a lot easier.

Lunch and snacks on any given weekend

Pitta bread– stuffed with fillings

Toast some pitta breads in a toaster my favourite ones are:

Spreads for pittas: Vegan cream cheese, pâté, houmous, egg free mayo
Veggies to add: salad (rocket, watercress, spinach, lettuce) tomatoes, peppers, onion, beetroot, avocado, leeks, onions
Seeds: Roasted Tamari seeds, sunflower, sesame and cashews
Other Ingredients: cooked/tamari tofu, veggie burgers/sausages

imageSome simple ingredients: broccoli, pumpkin seeds, tofu, onions, peppers and a leek

Vulnerability

John Lennon and Yoko Ono by Annie Leibovitz
Info about the picture

Now I love this photograph, a lot of people see John Lennon as being the vulnerable one here, (interpretation is so subjective, that’s why everyone has a different take on it) I see Yoko as more vulnerable than John (she looks encompassed and held in rapture by him), I see him as being totally open and embracing everything about her in her entirety, with no judgement; now that’s what I call unconditional love.

Todos por Gus

This is an interesting time for me as there are two distinct energies at work over the next few days

One is first on 31st October (Old Hallows’ Eve or known more commonly as Hallowe’en here in the UK ) which is a  festival which has roots in the Celtic festival of Samhain Samhain has been celebrated in Britain for centuries and has its origin in Pagan Celtic traditions. It was the time of year when the veils between this world and the Otherworld were believed to be at their thinnest: when the spirits of the dead could most readily mingle with the living once again. Later, when the festival was adopted by Christians, they celebrated it as All Hallows’ Eve, followed by All Saints Day, though it still retained elements of remembering and honouring the dead. This time is for me is to remember both my Mother and Grandmother
